ACTIVITIES OF INNOVATION HUB:

1. Interaction Meeting on Utilization of Innovation Hub was held on 23rd April, 2019. Selected teachers, lecturers and professors from various schools/institutes including NIT Mizoram, PUC and MZU participated at the event. 

 


 

2. Chief Mentor and two (2) Junior Mentors attended the North East Zonal Robotic Workshop organized at Regional Science Centre, Guwahati during 24th – 28th June, 2019. 

 


 

3. A two-day Robotics Camp was held on 30th – 31st August, 2019 at Innovation Hub, MSC. The Robotics Camp was organized for selected member students for hands-on training on the basics of Lego EV3 Mindstorm robots. 

 





4. A programme on Biological Specimens Collection and Identification cum Quality Assessment of water and soil samples was organized on 28th September, 2019 at Sakeilui, Tuirial. Around 50 Hub members took part in this event. 

 

 

5. North East Zonal Robot Olympiad was held during 21st - 22nd January, 2020. Four student members of Innovation Hub - two each from St. Paul’s HS and Greenland HS represented the State in the competition. One (1) Junior Mentor led the Mizoram team at this competition.

 


 

6. Chief Mentor and one Hub member along with two grassroot innovators from the State attended the Innovation Festival held at Regional Science Centre, Guwahati on 8th - 9th February, 2020. Zosangliana, Member, Innovation Hub displayed his project exhibit during this festival.

 



7. Membership drive as an outreach programme was held at various targeted Higher Secondary Schools to spread awareness about the facilities and resources of the Innovation Hub for convincing the students to become a member of the hub. The schools visited were Staines Memorial School, Chaltlang HSS, Helen Lowry School, Greenland HSS and St. Paul’s HSS. Membership drives were also held at the Innovation Hub throughout the reporting year as and when convenient. The schools which participated in the drive were Zemabawk HSS, Home Missions School, Synod HSS, St. Paul’s High School, Tuikual South HS and Holy Cross School.




8. Protective visors were produced at Innovation Hub, MSC and were handed over to Minister, Health & Family Welfare Department, and Minister, Home Dept., Govt. of Mizoram for use by frontline workers in the fight against Covid-19.

 


 


9. Fully automated hand washer was designed and developed by Innovation Hub, MSC.

 


 


10. Webinars on “Fundamental principles of robots and computational thinking” and “Robotics :Introduction to Lego EV3 Mindstorm”  were held on 20th  October, 2020 and 13th February, 2021 respectively.

 


 

 

11. Innovation Hub currently has 154 members.
